The Spartan Podcast – Tim Staudt

timstaudtpodcast.jpgFrom MSU Today on Impact Radio: MSU alumnus Tim Staudt is the dean of sports broadcast journalists in mid-Michigan. Tim is sports director at Lansing’s NBC affiliate WILX-TV 10. He’s been on television in the Lansing area for 37 years and has hosted the Staudt on Sports radio program for 15 years. He recently added a Sunday Lansing State Journal column to his busy schedule.

Tim describes his favorite moments while covering sports in the Lansing area for almost 40 years. He discusses how sports reporting and broadcasting has changed over the years. He talks about the peers he admires and gives his advice to young people who want to be the Tim Staudts of tomorrow.

President Lou Anna K. Simon to name current senior associate athletics director Mark Hollis as the athletics director-designate,
effective Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007.

Hollis will assume the role as MSU’s 18th athletics director on Jan. 1, 2008, succeeding Ron Mason, who previously announced his retirement, effective June 30, 2008.

Hollis, a 1985 MSU graduate, brings more than 20 years of athletics administration experience, either at the school or conference level, to his new position. His well-rounded background has led to his knowledge of all areas within an athletics department, including marketing, financial administration, television negotiations, fund-raising, game operations, facility management, personnel policy, corporate interaction, sports management and public relations.

Hollis talks about his vision for MSU athletics, and he discusses the opportunities and challenges facing MSU athletics and all of college athletics in the years ahead.
