Charles Hasemann is Executive Director of Business Connect, MSU’s front door for corporations. He joins Michigan State University President Lou Anna K. Simon and Spartans Athletic Director Mark Hollis for a conversation about MSU Business Connect and Spartan Innovations.

“We’re both responsive to people and companies who want to make contact with the university, and we market our strengths by taking them on the road to companies who might want to tap MSU’s expertise,” says Hasemann.

Hasemann says the common goal is to create value from the university’s assets.

“We’re about connecting our assets to the commercial world because it’s hard to translate intellectual property to the marketplace,” he says.

Hasemann says Spartan Innovations is a newly formed subsidiary of the MSU Foundation that will provide resources to support the launch of sustainable MSU startups.
