From MSU Today on Impact Radio: Jeff Armstrong is dean of MSU’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Dean Armstrong says the mission of the college boils down to economic development and quality of life. More specifically, the mission is to enhance the quality of life for the people of Michigan and the world by advancing knowledge for the management of communities and agricultural and natural resource and food systems to meet diverse human needs in a sustainable manner.

He discusses many of the college’s important initiatives and partnerships – ranging from the bioeconomy to sustainable food and farming systems to land and water policy and use. He updates us on the deliberations in Congress surrounding the reauthorization of the Farm Bill, and he discusses the important issues in animal welfare.
