“The sophistication of the student population is the biggest change in admissions trends I’ve seen,” MSU Admissions Director Jim Cotter tells Michigan State University President Lou Anna K. Simon and Spartans Athletic Director Mark Hollis on MSU Today. “Through social media and their maturity, they’ve put a lot more thought into the college admissions process in the last 10, 15 or 20 years than we did.

“When they go to the marketplace, they’re very wise and thoughtful in making their decisions.”

“I love what I do, and I’ve always had a passion for golf,” MSU women’s golf coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll tells Simon and Hollis. “Then when I came to Michigan State I fell in love with the school.”

Stacy says she recruits players for MSU on “character, grades, and talent. And believe it or not, we really feel that talent is last because we know that if we have a great character person who is meant to be a Spartan, they’re going to be successful.”

And former Spartan quarterback Kirk Cousins tells Russ White about his new book Game Changer.
