From MSU Today on Impact Radio: An $18 million NIH contract is funding the state of Michigan’s role in the National Children’s Study; MSU is taking the lead in the study of effects of environmental influences on child health.
A consortium composed of Michigan’s top three research universities, some of its leading health care systems and hospitals, as well as state and local health agencies will join together to participate in the national project described as “one of the most ambitious health studies of its kind.â€
Directing the project in Michigan will be Nigel Paneth, an MSU professor of epidemiology, and pediatrics and human development.
Dr. Paneth talks about the goals of the project and what the researchers hope to learn from this important research.
