From MSU Today on Impact Radio: Joan Rose serves as the Homer Nowlin Chair in Water Research at MSU. Rose is an international expert in water microbiology, water quality and public health safety.
Dr. Rose discusses a myriad of water issues facing the Great Lakes and the entire world’s water system. She talks about her vision for water research in Michigan that focuses on the importance of water for the health of humans, animals and the environment.
Rose says there is an important and critical relationship between water and health which has often been taken for granted. Health is the goal, she says, and we have to use new technology to study the water environment to get there.
