The Spartan Podcast – Phil Gardner and Kelley Bishop

From MSU Today on Impact Radio: MSU’s Collegiate Employment Research Institute is out with its 37th annual Recruiting Trends survey of the job market for college graduates. Phil Gardner is the author of the report. Gardner says seniors in bachelor of arts and bachelor of science programs can expect more job opportunities this year, with employers expected to increase the number of opportunities 7 percent over last year. What’s more, collegians seeking a job in business, engineering, computer science and accounting, will find business hires up between 10 and 13 percent, engineering between 12 and 14 percent, and computer science up 5 percent.

Kelley Bishop is executive director of Career Services and Placement at MSU. He describes the skills that employers are looking for in the grads they hire and says most students should tap his offices’s services long before their senior year.

Hosted by Russ White.
