Scott Westerman and Russ White sit in for Michigan State University President Lou Anna K. Simon and Spartans Athletic Director Mark Hollis on this edition of MSU Today on News/Talk 760 WJR.

Dan Hurley is CEO of the Michigan Association of State Universities. He says his organization works at keeping both our legislators and the general public informed about the challenges and opportunities facing Michigan’s public universities.

Hurley is focused on helping legislators and citizens see the value of an educated workforce to Michigan’s future economic prosperity and social vitality.

MSU’s Communication Arts & Sciences dean Prabu David and Detroit Public Television CEO Rich Homberg tell Westerman and White about the bold, new collaboration between Michigan State University and DPTV that will unite one of the world’s top research universities and a national leader in public broadcasting and community engagement.

The Detroit-based partnership will greatly expand the relationship between MSU and DPTV, beginning with an initiative to provide 24/7 programming for children and families in Detroit, Lansing and statewide.

And White talks with Greening of the Great Lakes host Kirk Heinze.
